Waste-Water Treatment Plant Not Coming After All

The company which wanted to build a waste-water treatment facility outside Saint Jo has withdrawn its application. Fenco Contractors Group are citing protests and their finances as the reason.

This comes less than two weeks before a hearing before the Texas Railroad Commission. The city had been preparing for a legal battle with the company for months. Many had feared a leak could get into the Trinity Aquifer; a drinking water source. Fenco says it's already lost $280,000. For the past three years Fenco had been applying for the permit to build the treatment plant about three miles west of Saint Jo.
