Embryonic Stem Cells Used On Human For First Time

A company has began using embryonic stem-cell treatment on a human patient with a spinal cord injury.

This marks the first time the drug has been used on a human.

The company says it enrolled its first patient in the early stage of the study which will look at the safety of the treatment and how well the patient can tolerate it.

To be treated a patient must be injured in the last two weeks.

The treatment still faces many years of testing for effectiveness if all goes well in this study.
