Attorneys General in all 50 states have launched a joint investigation into allegations that mortgage companies mishandled documents and broke laws in foreclosing homeowners. The coalition is called The Mortgage Foreclosure Multi-State Group. The Attorney General's office says they'll be specifically reviewing whether individuals confirmed facts supporting foreclosures. This comes a week after Attorney General Greg Abbott put a foreclosure freeze on 30 companies in Texas. Those companies have until Friday to prove they didn't use "robo signing" methods to sign off on foreclosures.
