Eating Watermelon Has Its Benefits

It's cool and refreshing, and it may help lower your blood pressure, too.  Florida researchers found that watermelon can prevent the progression from pre-hypertension to hypertension a major risk factor for heart attacks and strokes.

The pilot study examined nine people with pre-hypertension, giving them an amino acid found in watermelon over a six week period.  All nine experienced a drop in their blood pressure.
