The Lost Battalion

There was a packed house on Sunday for a history lesson on what's known as the Lost Battalion during WW2. The event was held at the Museum of North Texas History and it took at look at a original Texas National Guard Battalion. There were soldiers from Wichita Falls and Jacksboro in that battalion that were taken prisoner on their way to the war.

Speaker, Kenny Mayo says, "I never felt like while I was putting all this together that I have ever wasted any time as we delt in with the experience of the Lost Battalion. When the men who survived returned home, a parade through downtown Wichita Falls drew 10,000 people to welcome them back. That parade is still the largest parade in the city's history.
