Re-Sentencing Hearing For Convicted Trooper Killer

The death penalty could be handed down again for a man found guilty of murdering an Oklahoma Patrol Trooper. Ricky Ray Malone was back in court Monday for his re-sentencing trial. The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals overturned Malone's original sentence of the death penalty in 2007 for the First Degree Murder of Trooper Nik Green in 2003.

Authorities say Malone shot Green on the side of a road in Cotton County when the Trooper caught him making Methamphetamine. On Monday, the court ruled the prosecution made improper statements during closing arguments, so another re-sentencing trial will have to be held.
