Gulf Oil Spill Damage Not As Dramatic As Some Think

It has been six months since the oil spill began in the Gulf of Mexico, and scientists are saying the damage isn't as dramatic as some may think.

Researchers only lowered the rating of the Gulf's ecological health by six points from where it was before the spill happened.

On the 100 point scale, it currently sits at 65.

Scientists say the Gulf was already in bad shape from overfishing, farm runoff, and other smaller oil spills.
