High School Volleyball Roundup: October 19

The Rider Lady Raiders entered Tuesday night in fifth place in the District 4-4A standings.

They had a big home game against Little Elm and they got the job done, winning in straight sets 25-18, 25-8, 25-20.

They're up to 5-5 in-district and are all alone in third place.

Elsewhere, in 6-3A, Iowa Park dropped the first set of a crucial game in Vernon, but rallied for a 4-set win to break a tie for 2nd place and sit alone at 6-2. Vernon drops to 5-3.

Meanwhile, Burkburnett dealt a blow to Bowie's playoff chances with a 4-set win in Bowie. The Lady Rabbits could have tied Vernon at 5-3 with a win, but instead drop to 4-4. The Lady 'Dogs improve to 3-5.

Graham is 7-1, while Hirschi is 0-8.

In 2A, Henrietta swept City View, while Holliday stepped out of District play to beat Christ Academy at home in 3 sets.

And in TAPPS action, Notre Dame won a playoff warmup match at Sherman Texoma Christian in 4 sets. They'll play either Longview Christian or Dallas Tyler Street on Saturday at home in the TAPPS Area round.
