Barry Macha Resigns

Wichita County District Attorney Barry Macha faxed his resignation letter to Governor Rick Perry Thursday. Oct. 31 will be his last day as Wichita County DA.

Macha will be taking over the chief legal position at Midwestern State University, his Alma Matter.

By law, current first assistant DA Maureen Shelton will take over as interim DA. She is also the county's future DA, she is running unopposed in the November election.

Macha had nothing but good things to say about Shelton and several other of his co-workers. Macha says he is honored and grateful to have served as DA.
