George H. W. Bush Endorses Gov. Perry

A former President is endorsing the Texas Governor in his re-election campaign.

Former President George H. W. Bush threw his support in for Governor Rick Perry at a rally in Houston.

This comes after Bush Sr. originally supported Republican Kay Bailey Hutchison who tried to unseat Perry in the primary.

But the former President says Perry is still needed Austin.

"You know he's the best we could possibly have. He's an outstanding American. He's been a great governor for the state of Texas and is absolutely essential that he be re-elected," Bush Sr. said.

Perry is facing competition from the former Mayor of Houston, Democrat Bill White.
