Graham Takes District 6-3A Title

Halloween spirit was out in Burkburnett Friday night, but it was more trick than treat as Graham powered their way to a 28-14 win.

The Steers captured the District 6-3A Title Friday night against the Burkburnett Bulldogs at Bulldog Stadium.

Graham scored first when Junior Quarterback Lane Bynum found Corey Groves up the middle for a long touchdown, putting the Steers up 7-0.

Later, Graham extended their lead, with Bynum running it in from ten yards out for the touchdown. The Steers missed the extra point and led 13-0.

The Steers kept the scoring going later in the second quarter. Bynum threw his second touchdown pass of the night, finding Dylan Fulford in the back of the end zone for the touchdown. Graham got the two-point conversion to lead 21-0.

But the Bulldogs answered right back. Senior Quarterback Canon Cornelius ran for a long touchdown off the triple-option to cut the Steers lead to 21-7.

Graham went into the locker room with a 14 point lead, and managed to hold on for the 28-14 win.

With the win, the Steers clinch the 2010 District 6-3A Title. They're now 7-2 overall and 4-0 in the district.

The Steers play their regular season finale against Hirschi while Burkburnett is on the road at Bowie.
