Newcastle Voters Say YES To ISD Repairs

In Newcastle, residents voted on a bond issue Tuesday to save the ISD building. Folks there voted for $4.6 million in Insurance Bonds for renovations. The school's foundation needs repairs and so does the roof.

The school's Superintendent says he's excited about the fact that people voted in favor and says the school is in dire need of repairs. "We have a foundation problem right now. It keeps moving. It's dropped four inches in the past four years," says Gordon Grubbs, Superintendent.

The money spent from that bond will have to be paid back over the next 15 years.
