Montague ISD Receives Algebra Readiness Grant

The Montague Independent School District is receiving a $200,000 Algebra Readiness grant.

The Algebra Readiness program for small and rural schools goes to schools that serve six to eight grades.

The school must have 65 percent or fewer students in the seventh and eight grade who met the passing standard on the math portion of the TAKS tests.

Schools districts are meant to use the grant to implement programs that increase the preparedness of middle school students to meet standards and pass future assessments in algebra one.
