Raiders Run Old High Over 42-7

Reported by: Charlie Bartlett

The Battle of Wichita Falls goes to the Rider Raiders.

Friday night, Rider defeated WFHS 42-7 at Memorial Stadium in front of a packed house in our Dr Pepper Game of the Week.

From the opening kickoff, it looked to be a defensive battle all night, scoreless after the first quarter.

Once the second opened up, things changed, to the Raiders' advantage. Rider started to loosen up.

The Raiders got on the scoreboard first from a JT Barrett touchdown run which put Rider up 7-0.

Later in the first, Robert Jones stormed in for a long touchdown run putting the Raiders up 14-0.

But they wanted to inflict more pain on the Coyotes. Late in the half, Barrett called his own number for another Rider touchdown, his second of the game. Raiders up 21-0.

They went into the locker room with a three score lead and never looked back.

Rider claims the 2010 bragging in the Battle of Wichita Falls 42-7.

The Raiders finish the regular season 6-4, 5-1 in District 4-4A. They will play Amarillo Caprock next Friday at Memorial Stadium in the Bi-District Round.

WFHS concludes their 2010 season at 2-8, 1-5 in District.
