Community Comes Together To Help One Of Their Own

The Texoma community came together for one special young girl on Sunday.
Bailey Butler is a Sophomore at Burkburnett High School. She was recently diagnosed with Stevens Johnson Syndrome after having an adverse reaction to a medication.
Bailey has been in and out of the hospital to receive specialized treatment in Lubbock.
Sunday afternoon family, friends and well-wishers gathered at Outskirts to raise money for her, to help cover medical expenses.

Bailey's father Rick Butler told Newschannel 6, "The student body, everybody was behind it. There were supportive, the towns people of Burk and even Wichita Falls and we appreciate everything."

"She got to see some of her friends that were out here, and see how the community has come out to help her. It was just great," said Michael Bradshaw, one of the event coordinators.

The Elks cooked pork tenderloin and there was a silent auction for a lot of donated items.
Close to 200 people were in attendance.
All the proceeds go directly to Bailey.
