A checkpoint ends up starting a multi agency chase between two states, with the suspect caught unconscious.
Cotton County Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol set up ID checkpoint near Randlett.
Suspect Christopher Wilcox, stopped at the checkpoint Sunday afternoon but deputies say while they were checking his ID, he fled the scene.
The 37-year old Wilcox made his way to Texas, where Burkburnett police, Texas DPS troopers, and Wichita County deputies, picked up the pursuit.
Wilcox went from Wichita County to Clay County and made his way through the Thornberry area.
He eventually wrecked north of State Highway 79 on FM 2393 and then fled on foot.
He was later found unconscious in the Wichita River.
Texas Department of Corrections officers on horseback and officers with dogs assisted in the search.
He was transported by Air Evac to the 11th street campus of United Regional Hospital where he's listed in critical condition.
