High School Football Update: Playoff Week 2

It was overall a good night for Texoma's High School Football teams, especially the 11-man squads.

All five of the local 11-man teams that took the field Friday night moved on to the next round.

It was an especially good night for Archer County, who had three teams go out and win.

The Holliday Eagles shut down Stanton for a 16-0 win in Sweetwater.

And Archer City and Windthorst set up a rematch of their Week 7 matchup as the Wildcats shut down Bronte 24-11 and the Trojans beat up on an overmatched McCamey team 58-7.

The other 11-man team playing tonight was Quanah, who beat Sundown 26-20.

In 6-man action, #3 Throckmorton defeated #22 Saint Jo 52-6. The Panthers tied things at 6 in the first quarter but it was all Greyhounds from there. They move on to play Walnut Springs, who denied Knox City a second shot at Throckmorton with a narrow 49-48 win.

In 6-man Division 2, Newcastle lost to #7 Milford 22-16.

On Saturday Rider will face El Paso Andress in Odessa's Ratliff Stadium at 1 PM, Seymour will face Clarendon at 2 PM at Lubbock Cooper High School, and Notre Dame will face #13 Seguin Lifegate Christian at 4 PM at Waco Parkview School.
