War Hero Returns To Texoma

In Vernon Sunday, a homecoming of sorts for an amazing man.
Dr. Earnest F. Gloyna is the subject of an biography titled Reflections of a Soldier and Scholar, The Life of Earnest F. Gloyna. His story is an amazing one. He served five tours of duty in World War II before he came back to Texas to pretty much build the Cockrell College of Engineering at U.T. Austin.

Dr. Gloyna told Newschannel 6, "This is a great day for me for many reasons. I was born in Wilbarger County and I always came back periodically, but never to something like this."

An amazing Western Texas farm boy is what many who have read the book have come away with. Proceeds from sales of the book go to the Red River Valley Museum Western Trail Heritage Center Building Fund. Davis L. Ford wrote the book.
