Firefighters "Pink" Campaign Pays Off

The Wichita Falls Fire Department got the honor of literally seeing their hard work for the month of October pay off Monday.
Fire officials presented the local chapter of the Susan G. Koman Race For The Cure with a big check to help in the fight against breast cancer. Firefighters wore pink shirts that they also sold. And, they sold ribbons that were placed on fire trucks in the memory of someone who lost their battle or a survivor who won.

"We had a 100 percent participation with the Professional Firefighters Association here in Wichita Falls. These guys really worked hard as they do with every cause we try and help," said Association PresidentBobby Whitely.

That check was for $10,700. Last year the department raised over $13,000. They plan to do it again next year.
