High School Football Playoffs Roundup: 11/27

One step closer to the Texas State Football Championships!

Two texoma teams continued their playoff run, Windthorst and Munday, but three more looked to do the same. Rider, Holliday, and Throckmorton.

The Rider Raiders battled Birdville in the Class 4A Division I Regionals at Pennington Field in Bedford. The Hawks went up 7-3 early in the game, until Rider RB Deron Royster went crazy. He had 230 yards rushing with three touchdowns, as Rider defeated Birdville 24-10. The Raiders met #2 Denton Ryan next Saturday at C.H. Collins Athletic Complex in Denton, TX. Kick off is set for 2:00 PM.

Holliday looked to continue their winning ways over Sanford-Fritch in the Class 2A Division II Regionals, they did. Eagles' RB Tyler Cole led the way with two touchdowns as Holliday defeated Sanford-Fritch 21-6. Holliday will meet Idalou in the State Quarterfinals.

Throckmorton unstoppable all year, they showed us again. The Greyhounds beat up Walnut Springs 56-8 in the Class 1A 6-Man Division I Quarterfinals. #3 Throckmorton gets Aquilla in the State Semifinals.
