DPS Radio Communications Office To Close In Texoma

Parts of Texoma are starting to feel the effects of Texas' expected multi-billion dollar shortfall.

10 of the Texas Department of Public Safety 32 Radio Communications Offices will close in an attempt to save the agency and state an estimated $1.1 million.

One of those 10 offices is in Childless.

A DPS spokeswoman says calls will now be answered by Amarillo and Wichita Falls communication offices.

Communication employees provide support to troopers in the field.
