The Wichita Falls High School boys avenged a Fantasy of Lights loss to Abilene High, taking a 61-55 win Tuesday night at Coyote Fieldhouse.
Out in Abilene, the Lady Coyotes also picked up a win, defeating the Lady Eagles 66-36 behind 18 points apiece from Caroline Taylor and Lexi Brown plus 14 from Danielle Randolph. The Lady Coyotes improved to 6-1 on the season with the win.
The Rider girls also were victorious, backing up the football team's win over Birdville with a 59-33 win over the Lady Hawks. Erin Henderson led the way with 25 points, while Lindy Larson added 11.
In other Boys scores, 6th-ranked Burkburnett faced Borger on a neutral floor in Wellington, and cruised to an easy win, 84-30. Andrew Runyon led the Bulldogs with 20 points.
The Vernon Lions fell at home to Clyde 80-70. Tate Methvin scored 16 to lead the Lions.
Wichita Christian also lost at home, to Prairie Valley, by a 69-35 score. Christian Thomason had 14 points.
