FDA To Look At Approving Drugs Already On Market

An FDA panel is going to vote today on whether two drugs should be approved to prevent prostate cancer.  Avodart and Proscar are already on the market to treat enlarged prostate.  Drug makers Glaxosmith-Kline and Merc say their research shows the drugs also reduce the risk of prostate cancer by more than 20%.  Critics argue the companies only studied a small number of African-American men who are at high risk for the disease.
