Malone Trial Re-Sentenced

The execution of Ricky Ray Malone is now being delayed. A Comanche County judge recently sentenced Malone to death following a non-jury trial. Malone was set to be executed next month, but Malone's attorneys sought a deal. Malone was convicted in 2003 for the killing of Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Nik Green. At that time he was sentenced to die, but the Court of Criminal Appeals overturned Malone's punishment and ordered his re-sentencing. The re-sentencing trial took place in October.
