Wichita County Sheriff's Deputies Delivers Christmas Gifts

The Wichita County Sheriff's Office has become a Christmas miracle for dozens of Texoma children.

Sheriff's deputies delivered Christmas gifts to children Wednesday.

They made several stops, taking presents to the Helen Farabee Center, Faith Mission and the Pasty's House.

Wichita County Sheriff's Deputy Melvin Joyner said, "I just want to thank all the employees at the Wichita County Sheriffs Office that participated. This event could not have been done without each and every one of them and of course it's a great opportunity to get involved in the community and that's one of the things that we are trying to do."

More than half of the 17 people killed when a tourist boat sank on a Branson lake were members of the same Indiana family, and they likely wouldn't have been on the ill-fated trip but for a ticket mix-up.
