Two Texoma Counties Reject Possible Burn Ban

Commissioners in two Texoma counties said no to enacting a burn ban. Bans were on the agenda in Hardeman and Jack counties. Commissioners in Hardeman County want to wait a couple more weeks to see if conditions improve. Jack County commissioners also decided against placing a burn ban on residents for now. County Judge Mitchell Davenport says it is up to individuals to be responsible and take necessary measures to prevent fires. Burn bans are currently in place in Archer, Clay and Montague counties.
