Mountain Lion On The Loose Near Amarillo

A search for a mountain lion that's attacking goats in the Carson County area has been unsuccessful.  Although authorities say it is unlikely a mountain lion will come in contact with an adult human, Carson County Sheriff Tam Terry says there are things you should and should not do if a lion does come near you.

"Don't turn your back on them, don't bend over. You raise your hands up, make yourself look as large as possible. You don't run, because he's going to outrun you and you're going to lose that race," he said.

Authorities say it is more likely that a lion would attack a smaller object.  Officials will continue the search for the mountain lion in the Carson County area, throughout the week.
