MSU's Adrian Van Buren had not played a minute of this season after tearing his ACL for a second time, but he returned to contact drills over Christmas break, and made his season debut Thursday night when the #21 Mustangs hosted NAIA foe Mid-America Christian.
Van Buren scored 10 points in his return to the lineup, and Chris Hagan led the Mustangs with 23 points in a 104-55 win over the Evangels.
MSU's lead was just 44-32 at the half, but they turned it on in the second half, outscoring MACU 60-23 after intermission.
The win is the 499th for MSU at D.L. Ligon Coliseum, the 35th straight under the Dome, and the team's 10th consecutive win overall.
The Mustangs will go for the 500th win in D.L. Ligon history Monday night, January 3rd against Newman (Kan.).
The Rider Lady Raiders got a rare opportunity Thursday afternoon, getting to play a game on the home court of the Dallas Mavericks.
They faced Mineral Wells at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, and Jennifer Sissel led them to a 52-42 win. Sissel scored 17 points on what was also her 17th birthday.
