Fireworks Sales In The Air For New Year's

As you begin to ring in the new year, many will be doing so with fireworks.
Stands saw a few last minute shoppers coming in Friday.
Russell's Fireworks and Alamo Fireworks both stayed open until midnight selling all the could.
But, they also say this years sales were about average or even below average.
The cold weather and fire advisory kept most people away, but not everyone stayed away.

"We just got some fire crackers, but I personally wanted more," said a laughing Marcus Lander.
Lisa Randall told us, "We bring the kids down here to visit their grandparents, we come and get fireworks, because it's the once in the year that we can do it."

It is also against Wichita Falls city ordinance to pop fireworks inside the city limits.
There are a few counties that do have a burn ban in effect. Those counties are Clay, Montague, and Archer counties.
