Some Big Items On The W.F. City Council Agenda

The Wichita Falls City Council kicked off the new year this morning with their first meeting of 2011 and there were some big items on the agenda.
Councilors voted to create a new tax increment financing zone downtown.
The last one expired two years ago.
City leaders say re-establishing the zone could attract new business to the area.

Also on the agenda the councilors awarded bids for improvements at Castaway Cove Water Park.
Two separate bids totaling around $190,000 will cover the repairs and re-plastering of pools and  painting of water slides.

And a third item on the agenda will grant the city the right to protest a liquor license renewal for Texas Showgirls located in downtown Wichita Falls.
If the owners do not execute agreements made during the meeting..
The owners this morning agreed to increase lighting throughout the parking lot, install cameras and post signs stating 'no trespassing' between 2:30 and six AM.

We talked to police and the owners of the club about this mornings developments look for the latest tonight on NewsChannel 6 first at 5.
