More Radioactive Waste Could Be Heading To Texas

A judge has refused to block Tuesday's vote on whether to dump more radioactive waste near a small West Texas town.

The U.S. District Judge dismissed the lawsuit by environmentalists and a ruling to stop a proposal to allow three dozen states to put their radioactive waste in Texas.

The dump currently only accepts waste from Texas, Vermont and the federal government.

A Texas commission on radioactive waste is scheduled to meet Tuesday to consider expanding how much waste could be processed.
