Kidnapping Victim Charged With Felony

The victim of an Aggravated Kidnapping, Cody Dee Machen, 21, has been charged with Burglary of a Habitation. According to a probable cause affidavit for arrest warrant, around 7:30 p.m. on December 13, 2010, a woman was taking a shower when she heard someone enter her home in the 3000 Block of Miami.

When the woman came out of the shower, she found a leather bracelet on the floor of her room mate's bedroom. She said the bracelet was near where she had hidden her room mate's laptop computer. The computer was missing.

According to the affidavit, she recognized the bracelet as the same one worn by Machen earlier in the day when he was a guest in the home. She called Machen and accused him of taking the laptop and told him he needed to return it.

Machen then returned to the home with the computer and, according to the affidavit, admitted to the woman that he had taken it.

The affidavit is signed December 28, 2010 by Hon. Janice Sons. Bond was set at $15,000.
