Intoxication Manslaughter Trial Set for Deadly Wilson Overpass Crash

A trial date is now set for George Powers, the suspect accused of intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault in a deadly overpass accident that happened in July 2010. The Clay County District Attorney says Powers will face a jury on May 3rd. Troopers say Powers was driving in the wrong direction on the Wilson Overpass when he crashed head-on into an SUV, carrying Nicole Siple and two other passengers from Burkburnett. Nicole Siple died in the crash. The other passengers were hospitalized. Powers faces one count intoxication manslaughter for Siple's death, and two counts of intoxication assault for the two others injured in the accident. Investigators add Powers' blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit. Powers is on the 97th court docket.
