Sheppard AFB Dedicates Their New Solid Rock Cafe

Sheppard Air Force Base dedicated their new Solid Rock Café Wednesday evening.

The café was formed in 1999 and is the first of its kind in the Air education and Training Command.

The current building housing the Solid Rock Café has just finished a 14 month, $4.2 million renovation.

The café will provide better services to the 25,000 to 35,000 student airmen who visit every month.

Besides prayer rooms and confidential counseling by chapel personnel, the SRC also provides an Xbox, Wii and Playstation 3 gaming area, an 18-foot high-definition projection screen, kitchens, movie room, music jamming room with instruments provided, table games, pool, ping-pong, family room for those with children, and hot-spots for computer users.
