Clay County Commissioners have extended their burn ban for another 30 days.

Most burn ban lasts for 30 days after that the ban needs to be voted on to either extend it or end it.
Montague and Young Counties are also still under a burn ban.

Officials say if you start a fire, you will not be found in violation of the ban under specific exceptions, if you are:

-taking part in fire fighter training

-part of a Public Utilities operation

-planting a crop

-conducting the burn with a prescribed burn manager

-welding with at least one spotter and 100 gallons of water on-site with sprayer

-cooking food in an enclosed container (i.e. grill with a lid). No open fire/flame permitted
