MSU Sweeps Eastern New Mexico

The Mustang men used a 32-11 run to end the first half and kept Eastern New Mexico at bay in the second half for an 89-69 win at D.L. Ligon Coliseum Wednesday night in LSC South action.

It was the 38th consecutive win for MSU under the Dome, and they improved to 14-3, 2-1 in South Division play.

Chris Hagan led five Mustangs in double figures with 22 points, while David Terrell had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Darrick Thomas scored 15 points, and Thomas Colbert and Michael Loyd each added 10.

Charlie Logan had ten rebounds, five each on the offensive and defensive end.

The Mustangs will now head on the road for a pair of Lone Star Conference South games, first heading to San Antonio Saturday for a tough battle with #9 Incarnate Word, then to Kingsville to face the Javelinas next Wednesday.

They return home Saturday, January 29 against #23 West Texas A&M.

Women Snap Skid, Rally Past Zias

The Mustang women rallied from a 35-32 halftime deficit to defeat Eastern New Mexico Wednesday night, 74-62.

Nolisha Markham led the way with 21 points and 6 rebounds, and Cierra Thompson added 19 points and 5 rebounds. Katiya Jackson had 12 points and led the team with 7 assists.

The Mustangs improved to 5-10, 1-2 in the LSC South.

They will also head to San Antonio, then Kingsville before returning home to face the Lady Buffs a week from Saturday.
