Women's Clinic Doctor Arrested, Accused Of Murder

There are shocking allegations against a Philadelphia doctor, who one prosecutor said ran a "house of horrors."

Dr. Kermit Gosnell is accused of performing hundreds of late term abortions in this building seen in the video.

The 69-year-old is charged in the death of a woman who died from an overdose of anesthesia. Prosecutors say the woman had survived 20 years in a refugee camp before being overmedicated at the clinic.

Gosnell is also accused of killing seven babies by severing their spinal cords after they were taken from their mothers.

"There's no medical basis for sniping. For taking scissors and putting them into the neck and then cutting severing the spinal cord. So this is just homicide. It's murder," Philadelphia D.A. Seth Williams said.

Officials said Gosnell kept baby body parts on the shelves and allowed a 15-year-old high school student to perform intravenous anesthesia on patients.

His wife and eight employees of the clinic are also facing murder charges.

The clinic, which served mostly low-income women, is now closed.
