Toyota Named No. 1 Automaker

Toyota held onto the top spot for number of vehicles sold in 2010.

The Japanese automaker sold a little more than 8.42 million vehicles worldwide, for a second year in row.

Toyota Motor Corp. says its global sales rose 8 percent from 2009.

The company dethroned General Motors in 2009, a position GM had held for nearly eight decades. The Detroit-based automaker sold more than 7 million vehicles last year.
