Artillery Fire Beneficial For Fort Sill

An artillery fire in Fort Sill's "impact zone" is being called beneficial to their mission. Fort Sill officials say they burned off dry grass, which they say is desperately needed on the artillery range. Because of that, the fire is being allowed to burn.

Its been 16-18 years since the "impact zone" has had a fire if this magnitude. Over 1,000 acres have burned. Because it is in the "impact zone," fire fighters can't attack the fire directly, only control it from a perimeter. People are reporting seeing smoke from over 30 miles away.
