Lady Coyotes Post Another Shutout

Weekend tournament play began Thursday night for Wichita Falls High School and Burkburnett High School's girls teams.

The Lady Coyotes were at the Summit Lady Jaguar Invitational in Mansfield, taking on Weatherford in pool play, and they came away with a 2-0 win to start the tournament well.

Loudell Crumpler and Taylor Holden scored for the Lady Coyotes, each assisted by Payton Fookes. Tori Shannon recorded the shutout in net, her 8th of the season.

The win improves the WFHS girls to 9-1 on the season. They'll take on Amarillo Caprock Friday at noon, then face El Paso Riverside Saturday night at 7.

Burk Girls Fall in Keller

Meanwhile, in the Keller Tournament, the Burkburnett Lady Bulldogs faced Robinson. Amber Boatman scored a pair of goals, but they weren't enough as the Rockets took a 3-2 win.

Morgan McShan registered an assist for the Lady Bulldogs, who will face Lorena Friday at 12:30 PM.
