Senior Citizens Centers & Meals On Wheels Closed Due To Weather

(WICHITA FALLS, TX)- The Red Door and Green Door Senior Centers are closed and Meals On Wheels in Wichita Falls will not be delivered due to inclement weather Tuesday, February 1, 2011.

Red Door Senior Center and Green Door Senior Center, along with Meals On Wheels in Wichita Falls will resume regular operation, weather permitting, Wednesday, February 2, 2011 according to Betty Brown, executive director.

"The safety of our seniors and the volunteer drivers must be our highest priority on days like today. All of our Meals On Wheels clients have two shelf stable meals in their cupboards and we ask that they use those meals today, Tuesday, February 1. If the weather permits we will open our doors for noon time meals and Meals on Wheels Wednesday, February 2." Brown stated early this morning.

Senior Citizens Services (SCSNT) of North Texas operates two senior centers in Wichita Falls Texas; The Red Door located at 1008 Burnett and The Green Door located at 1100 Smith. Offering Meals on Wheels and meal service at each center, SCSNT served more than 287,000 Meals On Wheels in 2010.
