The sun is helping TXDOT remove ice from throughout their 8,000 miles of highways.
Public Information Officer Adele Lewis says their plan of attack is to get as much ice off the streets as possible. At least 7 maintainers from Childress have been added to those from Wichita Falls making a total of 17 available to take ice off the highways. Snowplows will follow helping to scrape the slush off roadways.
Lewis says, "All TxDOT maintenance employees have remained on a 24-hour operation since Monday. They won't stand down until the roads are in good shape."
