State lawmakers are urging utility companies and regulators to be prepared for this wave of winter weather over the next few days. Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst says he doesn't want more state-wide power outages like last week. He says 82 out of 550 power plants "went down principally due to a lack of adequate weatherization." Tens of thousands of Texans across the state lost power as temperatures dipped into the teens. Two Texas Senate Committees will hold hearings into why the state experienced those outages.
