New Wichita Falls Police Officers Hitting The Streets

There are more Wichita Falls police officers on the streets today.

Friday morning eight students became the 63rd group of graduates to complete the Wichita Falls Police Department's Academy. Trevor Wooten is the honor graduate of the group. Two graduates, Gregory Crane and Roger Sparks, had been in the military before becoming officers.  The academy lasts for 24 weeks with 960 hours of training covering everything from the Texas Penal Code to Police Weapons and Tactics.
The newly commissioned officers will be placed in patrol and begin their field training with experienced officers for the next three months.
