Monday we will find out about the plans of two Wichita Falls City Councilors. Michael Smith and Dorothy Roberts-Burns will be making announcements about their upcoming plans. Their terms are about to expire, and city elections will be held on May 14th. Newschannel 6 will be there Monday morning to hear what Smith and Roberts-Burns plan to do.
That May election is on the agenda for Wichita Falls City Councilors on Tuesday. They will set up the pay scales and appoint election officials and everything that goes along with elections.
Also on the council agenda is the approval of $107,000 for an upgrade to the city's current traffic control system. The system is 12 years old and city staff recommends it be upgraded. The new controllers would cover 75 of the cities 105 signalized intersections. There is an option in the proposal to get 25 more next year. The City is also looking at spending 4B sales tax money for a dehumidifier at the Kay Yeager Coliseum and for a new fire sprinkler system at the J.S. Bridwell Ag Center. Those two projects total $340,000.
