Nocona Man Gets 25 Years in Death of his Wife

DENTON, Texas (AP) - A North Texas man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for killing his estranged wife whose body has never been found.

Charles Stobaugh was sentenced Friday and had faced up to life in prison after he was convicted earlier this week of murder. Kathy Stobaugh had gone to her estranged husband's Denton County farm in late 2004 the day before their divorce was to become final.

Her car was found in his driveway, but authorities found no sign of her on his property.

During the trial, investigators testified that there's no evidence she was alive after that day. No one ever accessed her bank account or used her credit card.

Defense lawyers claimed Kathy Stobaugh is still a missing person.
