Wildcats Fall at Home to Rival Tornado

The Wichita Falls Wildcats hosted the rival Texas Tornado Friday night at Kay Yeager Coliseum, on Parents' Night and Shirts Off Our Backs Weekend.

The 'Cats fell behind quickly in the first period, allowing a Tornado goal just 27 seconds into the game. Jack Prince scored for Texas, set up by Ralfs Freibergs.

Prince scored again at 6:44 in the second period, on a long 5-on-3 power play set up by a double-minor for high sticking and a cross-checking minor.

The Wildcats got one back in the third period, with Ryan Frost set up by Chris Leone and Will Suter at 6:26, but with just over 3 minutes remaining the Tornado struck again, Walker Hyland set up by JD Howard and David Rigatti at 16:52.

Eric Garavaglia stopped 26 of 29 shots for the Wildcats in the loss.

The two teams will meet again Saturday night at 7:05 at the Kay Yeager Coliseum, and will also make up their snow-postponed game Sunday, February 27 in Frisco.
