Wichita Falls High School and Rider's boys soccer teams will meet up Friday night at Memorial Stadium for the first time this year, but first they had to get past district opponents Tuesday night.
The Coyotes got off to a slow start at McNiel Field against Gainesville, scoreless until the final minutes of the first half, when Rene Rivera headed home a Diego Saldana cross to put them up 1-0.
They added three more second-half goals, from Jose Lugo, Miguel Rodriguez and Carlos Hernandez, for a 4-0 win.
WFHS improves to 12-0-4 with the win.
The #2 Raiders also scored just one first half goal before scoring four more in the second half for a 5-0 victory over Decatur at Memorial Stadium.
Five different Raiders scored: Ryan Castelli, Mike Dix, Cal Johnson, Jonathan Nunn and Cole Wachsman.
The Raiders are now 13-2-2 on the season heading into their meeting with Old High, Friday at 5 PM at Memorial Stadium.
Payton Fookes recorded a hat trick in a 6-0 WFHS Lady Coyote victory at Gainesville Tuesday night.
Sierra Anderson also added a pair of goals and an assist for the 16-1 Lady Coyotes, who will try to avenge their only loss of the year Rider Friday night at 7 PM at Memorial Stadium.
The Hirschi Huskies took a 4-1 win at Bulldog Stadium in Burkburnett Tuesday night, but the Lady Bulldogs returned the favor with a 5-0 win at Memorial Stadium over the Lady Huskies.
Friday night the Huskies will face Gainesville, with the girls at GWFSA Field E and the boys in Gainesville.
