HS Softball: Windthorst, Burkburnett Tournaments

Texoma softball teams played in a couple of tournaments Thursday.

In Windthorst, the Trojanettes hosted teams from Holliday, Graham, Vernon, Haskell, Gunter and Krum.

In the day's opening game, Ashley Beddingfield went 3/3 to lead Holliday to a 7-3 win over the Vernon JV.

Later, Windthorst played three games in the day and won all three.

They beat Krum 13-0 behind a big game from pitcher Kelsey Hise, who in addition to winning the game went 3/3 and fell just a triple short of hitting for the cycle.

Then they knocked off Haskell 8-3 behind two hits each from Lexi Koetter and Megan Pennartz. Brittney Schreiber threw a three-hitter for the win.

Finally, Windthorst beat the Graham JV 12-0, with Hise picking up another win in the circle.

Action continues Friday with three more pool games, then bracket play. If things hold the way they are, Windthorst will play the last-place team from Pool A at 3 PM.
