City Of W.F. Hires A New Community Development Director

The city of Wichita Falls has hired a new community development director.

Norman Standerfer is making the move back to the Falls from Cape Coral, Florida.

City Manager Darron Leiker said Standerfer brings with him a wealth of public and private sector experience. Leiker says he looks forward to having him on his team.

Standerfer has a Bachelor of Architecture Degree and Masters Degree in Regional and City Planning from the University of Oklahoma as well as being a certified planner of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).

He was born in Wichita Falls before moving to Oklahoma with his family then returned to attended Midwestern State University his freshman year. He also has family that resides in Texas.

Standerfer begins his new position on March 14, 2011. He'll oversee Planning, Building Inspections, Code Enforcement, Housing, Neighborhood Resources and Property Management.
